Adobe Pagemaker Desktop Publishing is the latest version of the prestigious desktop publishing application. While Adobe still sells and supports it, its features are now covered in InDesign, which is designed from printable brochures and posters to reports, and also exports creations as PDF files. Like most Adobe publications, this is a versatile program, but it is not available for beginners. It has function templates to use and is recommended as a way to learn what you can do (function() {(‘review-app-page-desktop’);}); Adobe Pagemaker was originally released in 2002, and this shows its age. It’s designed for small businesses and professionals, and while it’s adequate as a desktop publisher, the next generation of programs is better suited for today, if you like using a desktop publisher, you’ll be thrilled that Pagemaker is still available. However, for most people, desktop publishing is obsolete because word processors can now make printable pages suitable for amateur users, and professional design packages are much better suited to highly capable but somewhat difficult-to-learn and outdated publishing applications.
