Adobe-style desktop publishing Adobe Pagemaker is the latest version of a reliable desktop publishing program. Although still sold and supported by Adobe, the features are already covered by InDesign, which is designed to design things for print, from brochures and posters to reports, and which will work as PDF files. Like most versions of Adobe, this is a feature-rich program, but not fully accessible to beginners. It contains templates for features you can work with and is recommended as a way to find out what you can do (feature {(‘review-app-page-desktop’);}); Adobe Pagemaker was released in 2002 and shows that it is old. It is designed for small businesses and professionals, and although it is a sufficient desktop publisher, next-generation programs are more appropriate today, if you are happy with the use of desktop programs, you will be glad that Pagemaker is still available. For most people, however, desktop publishing is obsolete, as word processing programs can now create printable pages that are ideal for amateur users, and professional design kits are much more suitable for a fully viable publishing application, but the training is relatively difficult and outdated.
